A few weeks ago I called over 20 quilt shops in 4 provinces looking for a particular fabric. I made 4 placemats for a family member and now they wanted more and for once I hadn’t over bought fabric. So the search began.

The search led me to Kalidoscope of Quilts In St Mary’s ON. I had a great conversation with the owner. She had one fat quarter of the fabric I needed and insisted on sending it to me free of charge! Quilters are a great group and Karen at Kalidoscope has set the bar very high.

When you are looking on line for fabric and notions, please consider looking at www.kalidoscopeofquilts.ca The website is user friendly and Karen has a lovely selection of fabrics

I visited the shop to find elastic to make masks. I had fabric but decided to buy some more as the material was lovely and unusual enough to make some unique masks.

I took a class on March 11, 2018 with Bev Louwagie on "Quilting with your Walking Foot. What a great class!!! Bev told us so many extra tips on quilting with our machines. Once we got into the samples work, Bev explained things clearly and e worked on different designs we could make with a walking foot, even curves.

I took the Octo piece quilting project on October 2, 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is now finished and I posted it on my Facebook page. Thanks a bunch to our teacher Heather Stewart and Kalidoscope of Quilts. First time quilting!

I visited Kalidoscope of Quilts for the July Shop Hop and RxR. Exeter looks like such an interesting place to explore and the shop has a wonderful selection of quilting and embroidery supplies. I was impressed with the unique layout of the July Shop Hop quilt. I wish I had more time (and $) to spend at this store. First time in, won't be the last!

My husband and I went to see Karen. Karen helped us design our own custom quilt for our needs. I wanted to get something different for my mom for Christmas and John wanted to get a quilt for his Grandma's Cottage. Karen was able to create two beautiful and completely different quilts for us. She was able to incorporate photos from the cottage on the quilt. Both loved their gifts. I can't wait to take a class myself, and learn how to make a quilt!! Great work!!!!
